Industrial laundry ironers
Flatwork ironers dry, press, and polish damp linen in one continuous pass, accelerating production for busy laundries. The system glides fabrics over a tapeless cylinder to prevent friction marks and guarantee flawless results.

How do industrial ironers work?
Industrial ironers begin the finishing process when operators feed damp linens with 40 to 50% moisture directly into the machine. Large heated cylinders smoothly draw the wet fabric through specialized rollers, applying intense physical pressure and high temperatures. This powerful thermal contact quickly removes all residual moisture to perfectly iron fibers in a single pass.
Energy source
All Kannegiesser ironers are all available in two versions:
- Steam-powered or
- Gas-powered

Chest design
Rigid chest

Rigid chests, like the one used on the SHM model, are designed to provide strong and stable support for the rolls. They have extra rigidity and strength due to an improved arrangement of the reinforcement ribs. The uniform shape of the chest is unaltered under all types of operation conditions and workloads.
The rigid chests of the SHM are characterized by their clear, functional design. They feature have a high gloss polished chest surface with a roughness value of 2 μm – this assures a safe linen transfer, good finish and a better heat distribution. The SHM chests are fully insulated to prevent heat loss.
Flexible chest

Flexible chests, like the one used on the HighPower Ironer HPM, use a heating band made of stainless steel. Its highly flexible adaptation to the roll diameter ensures a consistent alignment and enhanced efficiency. This evolution marked a revolution in the construction of ironers, as the Kannegiesser solution allows higher productive capacity in a smaller machine footprint.
This development was possible due to application of the best manufacturing processes and materials. Kannegiesser made use of high quality stainless steel, which, with its excellent thermal conductivity, has proved to be the perfect choice for heating band ironer technology with high pressure steam or thermal fluid.
