On 18 September, Kannegiesser South-East Asia joined industry leaders, laundry operators, and suppliers at Ecolab Textile Care Day in Bangkok, where we shared insights into the operational challenges shaping the future of commercial laundry in Thailand.
Hosted by Khun Hathai Arunmak and the Ecolab team, the event provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss some of the key pressures facing the regional laundry sector, including labor shortages, rising utility costs, and increasing sustainability requirements.
Representing Kannegiesser South-East Asia, Leon Karoß and Khun Nipon Kamondech delivered a keynote presentation on modern continuous batch washing technology, with a focus on our German-engineered Kannegiesser PowerTrans Vario tunnel washer.
The presentation explored how continuous batch processing with modern tunnel washers can help address three important challenges for modern laundries:
- Optimizing labor
- Reducing water consumption
- Improving energy efficiency
We exchanged perspectives with industry professionals on the transition from conventional, high-consumption washing processes toward more automated and synchronized tunnel washing systems. Compared with traditional washer extractors, which require more manual handling and can involve higher utility consumption per kilogram, modern continuous batch washers can significantly reduce water and steam consumption through technologies such as advanced counterflow and standing-bath filtration, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and fabric care.
We would like to thank the Ecolab team for hosting the event and for providing a valuable platform for knowledge exchange with professionals across Thailand’s laundry industry.
